Description
Risk is inherent within any marine operation, which means that accidents and incidents will occur. Marine accidents and incidents can be very complex, relevant authorities are responsible for investigating these events; anyone carrying out an investigation needs the skills to conduct a robust investigation. Our training course delivers the core knowledge required to understand the cause factors leading to an accident, collate the required information and compile an investigation report with recommendations for improving safety. The course is presented by a Marine Accident Investigation specialist, with more than 20 years of experience during which he was involved with the investigation of over 70 serious marine accidents, resulting in over 140 recommendations for improving safety. This is backed up with 25 years at sea, trading worldwide.

Objectives
The main objective of an Incident Investigation in the maritime industry is to determine the root cause of an incident or accident to prevent recurrence, improve safety standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Duration
Each module is expected to involve 6 hours of learning time each week, making a total of 52 hours per 2 months period and the associated tests might be completed in less than 2 hours.
